Several of San Antonio’s municipalities and surrounding communities put on their own Fourth of July events.
Alamo Heights: The annual 4th of July Neighborhood Parade starts at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Estes and Patterson avenues and ends at Cathedral Park. Attendees are welcome to bring decorated bicycles, wagons, strollers and pets and are encouraged to rep their red, white and blue colors.
Helotes: The Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Spectacular kicks off at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Helotes Municipal Complex, 12951 Bandera Road. It will feature music by the Helotes Area Community Band, a variety of family-friendly activities and free hot dogs, ice cream and apple pie. Fireworks start once the sun goes down.
Seguin: The city’s Independence Day celebration spans four days, starting Saturday with Freedom Fiesta at Seguin’s Cental Park, which features live performances, a kids parade and food vendors. On Sunday, the San Antonio Symphonic Band will play a medley of patriotic songs at 7 p.m. in Central Park. At 9:30 p.m. Monday, a Fireworks Fiesta will light up the sky, and a flag-raising ceremony begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Central Park, followed by the Biggest Small-Town Fourth of July Parade, which rolls down Austin Street at 10 a.m.
Boerne: A fireworks display is set for Boerne City Park at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
New Braunfels: An Old Time 4th of July Parade & Patriotic Program will be 9:05-11 a.m. Tuesday at Main Plaza downtown. The parade will begin at 9:15 a.m. with a flyover by the Commemorative Air Force.
